You can select multiple groups by holding down the shift or control keys while selecting. The changes take effect immediately.
Use the big arrow on the bottom of the page to return.
entermanygroups_help=On this screen you can add new groups.
Select the type of group you wish to create and (optionally) what age groups it should belong to. You can select multiple age groups by holding down the shift or control keys while selecting. You must also enter a lowercase groupname (which may consist of 8 letters and numbers, alltogether). The group description is free-form and will be displayed prominently together with the groupname. You can create more then one group at a time by clicking "Add more Groups" after filling in the first. You finally create the groups by by entering the administrator password and then clicking "Create these Groups".
The group types available are "Class/Course" (for school classes with pupils and/or teachers), "Authority Group" (for placing users in some kind of authority relationship to other users), "Privilege Group" (which grant access to certain privilidges like printing or internet access by membership) and "Age Group" (which narrows down user and groupmembership selections by only presenting groups and users in the same age groups).
Use the big arrow on the bottom of the page to return.
entermanyusers_help=On this screen you can add new users.
Select the type of user you wish to create and what groups and classes he should belong to. You can select multiple groups, classes or user types by holding down the shift or control keys while selecting. Missing groups can be created, just follow the "Add New Groups" link on the main page. You must also enter the user's first and last name. The names may contain special characters. You can add more then one user at a time by clicking "Add more Users" after filling in the first. You finally create the Users by entering the administrator password and then clicking "Create Users".
The user types available by default are "Admin" (administrator, who has the power to edit and change everything), "Teacher" (Who may change passwords of pupils and enable and disable login and internet access) and "Student" (who may change his own password). Other user types may be added by creating "Authority Groups" on the "Add New Groups" page.
Use the big arrow on the bottom of the page to return.
adminright_help=This is the main screen. Most operations can be initiated from this page or pages directly linked from here.
In the upper left corner of the page you see the search menu. Here you can enter search patterns like "*" or "*foo*bar*". If you leave it empty, it will append an asterix ("*") on its own. The asterix is a placeholder and matches everything. Below you can specify the namespace to be searched: you can search in full names, in login names and in group names. Search results will be displayed in the right side of the page. Depending on if you searched for users or groups, the search results will have 5 or three columns. The users list will feature the "Selection", "Full Name", "Login Name", "Login Permitted" and the "Edit" column. While "Full Name", "Login Name" and "Login Permitted" display information, in "Selection" and "Edit" you can take action: you select user entries or you can access further pages to edit the user's data ("User Data") or group membership ("Classes"). The "Login Permitted" field indicates if a given user may log in (green mark) or not (red cross).
For groups the columns are "Selection", "Name" and "Edit", where "Selection" and "Edit" work identically, and "Name" corresponds to the user's "Login Name", as it is the systems unique handle to the group.
Below the search menu, the "Admin Operations" are located. Initially only "Add New Users" and "Add New Groups" are available. Under these links you can add users or groups to the system.
However, when a search produces results, new operation options appear: "Delete Selected", "Enable Login" and "Disable Login". These Operations have an effect on itemes you selected from the list of search results by klicking the checkbox in the first column. "Delete Selected" will delete the selected entries. If you selected one or more groups, only the group entities are deleted, not the members of the groups. "Enable Login" and "Disable Login" will enable or disable users' login which were selected or which are members in selected groups. For these operations the Admin Password must be entered before the operation button is clicked, otherwise the operation is ignored.
Use the big arrow on the bottom to clear the page.
fileimport_help=This interface lets you create users from a file.
The process consists of several steps. Right here you just need to specify the file's name and location on your local computer. You can type in the filename or browse your harddisk (click the "Browse" button) to find the file. Then you can click the "Add Users from File" button.
The file should consists of one or more rows, each consisting at least of the user's name and optional classes and groups he should attend, seperated by semicolons (";").
filecontent_help=This is the second step of the fileimport interface.
On this page you can identify and name the different colums found in the file you specified. You do that by selecting for each column the type of data listed in it from the selection on top of the column. Below the table you can select if you want classes and other groups which do not yet exist to be created on the fly. Otherwise those groups which dont exist are ignored.
You finally create the Users by entering the administrator password and then clicking "Create Users".
Use the big arrow on the bottom of the page to return.
added_samba=Added user $1 to samba.
failed_samba=Failed to add user $1 to samba.
failed_admin_samba=Failed to update ldap admin passwd in samba. Please set the password for your samba -'ldap admin dn' via 'smbpasswd -w yourpassword'. This is not done automatically for security reasons.
adminright_default_help=When leaving the "for:" field empty, you get all the users or groups when searching. You can also use search patterns like "*" or "*partial*name*".

You can add users from a file when pressing the "New User(s)" button. It is also possible to add new users to groups from a file.

Every user must be member of an authoratativ group that is either Teacher, Student or Admin. If you want users to be members of given classes, you can create those with the "New Group(s)" button.
adminright_user_help=You can delete selected users with the Main Menu button "Delete Selected". You must enter the admin password to authorize this operation.

An other nice feature is to turn on or off if users can log in.
adminright_class_help=You can delete selected groups with the Main Menu button "Delete Selected". You must enter the admin password to authorize this operation.

By pressing the "Enable Login" or "Disable Login" button you can turn login on or off for the whole class at once.
